This song was written after watching the Mel Gibson film "The Passion of the Christ". The film really changed me because it made me realize the true agony and suffering that jesus went through to fulfill His role as savior. I've had a few close friends tell me the lyrics were too graphic and would be too much for the average listener but that was the point- bringing the passion of Jesus crucifixion to life in a song.
